Two technical equipments in a public space.
Client : Stadsdeel Oud-West Amsterdam (Arrondissement Vieil Ouest)
Programme : Two technical equipments in a public space
Surface : 110 m2
Landscaper: DS Landschaparchitekten
These two small structures are part of the complete redevelopment of “Staring Plein,” a public square in downtown Amsterdam.
The new underground parking created beneath the square required a welcoming space for the automated car elevator, as well as an emergency exit and a ventilation kiosk. Additional neighborhood needs were incorporated into this program: a transformer, a storage space for the outdoor toys of a nursery, a climbing structure for children, and more.
The construction was made using steel profiles and a skin of woven stainless-steel mesh.
