Conversion of the Louise Michel hospital site and restructuring of Tour H into a mixed programme: young workers’ residence and intergenerational residence, construction of 230 homes.

Client: Linkcity

Programme: Conversion of the Louise Michel hospital site and restructuring of Tour H into a mixed programme

Surface: 12 620 m²

Budget: 62,7€ + VAT

Competition: 2017 – Finalist project

The site is one of a number of areas in the Essonne region undergoing urban regeneration, particularly following the transfer in 2012 of the Louise Michel hospital, a major facility in the Ville Nouvelle d’Evry that until then had structured the operation of the Canal district.

The transformation of the district involves revitalising the economy and enhancing the existing heritage, particularly Tower H, a strategic symbol and architectural landmark.

The aim is to create a project structured by high-quality green spaces, to rebalance the socio-economic categories, and to reorganise this gateway area for Evry and Courcouronnes by recreating a coherent continuity of public spaces.

The urban development approach adopted with the creation of the ZAC Canal Europe will provide a high-quality built and urban environment, while meeting ambitious environmental objectives and innovation in terms of housing and uses.
