Last week, we had the honor and pleasure of participating in the 14th edition of the International Wood Construction Forum, a key event in the bio-based construction sector, which took place in Paris in the magnificent setting of the Grand Palais.
Our project Relais d’Italie, delivered in 2022, was exhibited at the Gallery of Architecture in the large nave. It involves the restructuring and expansion of a conservatory from the 1980s to transform it into a mixed-use program featuring a cultural facility, a café, a coworking space, and student housing. The latter was constructed by stacking 18 3D modules with a timber frame structure, fully made in the workshop, transported by truck, and assembled on-site in just a few nights. More information about the project.
From the press kit of the FBC:
“In the context of RE2025, the Forum is evolving into a ‘World Expo of Forests, Wood, and bio-based Materials’ to showcase all the innovative solutions in the decarbonized construction, renovation, and planning markets.
The responses to the call for projects launched to architects, planners, designers, builders, engineers, and design offices form the core of the workshops and conferences. Industrial companies, SMEs, and start-ups, on the other hand, are invited to present their innovations (products, processes, solutions, etc.) to enable wood and biosourced construction and planning to enter a new era.”
