Issues and practices surrounding work on ACR-labelled buildings: NODOS takes part in the organization of this one-day workshop.

The aim of the workshop organised by the ANCA was to combine scientific and professional aspects. It focused on sharing experiences and thoughts on the development of buildings with the Remarkable Contemporary Architecture (RCA) label, particularly during the various stages of work (before, during and after). Although the methods for identifying future buildings to be awarded the label were in part specific, the construction phases raised more complex theoretical, methodological, technical, cultural and doctrinal issues. Among the points addressed were the superimposition of theories and practices of creation and conservation in architecture over a period of 100 years, as well as the problems associated with ‘label removal’. In addition, the legal status of the ‘label’, situated between protection and development, opened up new perspectives, both practical and theoretical, during the work phases.

A dozen speakers from different professional fields, including Pablo Katz, from NODOS Architecture, shared their experiences of working on buildings with the ACR stamp. They addressed the subject through preliminary studies, comments, promotional initiatives, as well as theoretical and practical insights into architecture.
